Cultural difference when interviewing for Asian business?

I’m interviewing for an internship in Taiwan next week. What cultural differences should I keep in mind during my interview?
I’m American.
I think same as in the U.S.
I’ve worked in Asia before; it’s funny because if you are interviewing here (in the US), then there is pretty much not that much difference – I’m assuming you’ll be going there with a big multi-national corporation so things should be very ‘Americanized’. And it also depends on the company; if it is a Western company and/or a Eastern company… treat it like any other interview and I’m sure you will be fine.
Honestly, the cultures aren’t as different as people think they are. Run through your interview as you would in the U.S. and you should be fine. Good luck with the internship.
you don’t really have to. taiwanese in general worship the ground americans walk on.
The fact you are a foreigner coming from a western country (being an American helps even more) gives you the advantage of a positive discrimination which happens in Taiwan. They worship foreigners more than their own people, most of the times. So it doesn’t really matter if the company is purely Taiwanese or international, they will play it your way if you like. Just do it the way you are used to and they will play according to you.
