How do i make my computer understand asian letters?

I had seen sentences in japanese, chinese and vietnam languages but they are always replaced by boxes so i cannot read. What should i do to get rid of the boxes? What program should i install? What is the number to BOXBUSTERS!? Even thought i don´t understand these Asian letters, i prefer them than boxes any day.
You can always download language packs onto your computer. If you’re using Windows, just type in Global IME and the language you want to be able to…err… see. hehe.
Just install whatever language you need and it should be able to read it perfectly.
