    There are 20+ nations involved – all located on the Pacific Rim. India has applied for membership but has not been accepted. Google up coverage of the APEC conference now on in Australia to get a complete list of the countries.

    most of the countries who joined the APEC are the countries on the pacific coast. (phillippies, taiwan, indonesia, japan, US, and others) basically they joined because of ‘political’ diplomacy as well as economic progress for their own country
